Celebrating resilience, wellbeing and future selves

Pupils across our trust have taken part in an impactful three‑day Resilience Reps training programme. Delivered by YouthShoots’ founder Paul Hanmore, the training focused on mental wellbeing, resilience, online safety and personal development.

The programme engaged Year 4 and 5 pupils in thoughtful, age‑appropriate discussions around some of today’s most important challenges. Throughout the training, pupils explored key themes including mental wellbeing, the impact of behaviour, digital resilience, healthy relationships and self‑care, and building their future selves. The sessions encouraged reflection, confidence‑building and positive peer interaction, equipping pupils with skills they can take forward into both school and everyday life.

Staff across the trust praised pupils for their maturity, engagement and enthusiasm when tackling complex subject matter, highlighting the importance of early, preventative education around wellbeing. “It was a pleasure to visit the training and see the impact being made first hand. Paul’s enthusiasm and energy are inspiring, and the children responded incredibly well to the sessions. Programmes like this are vital in supporting our pupils’ emotional wellbeing and helping them understand their role in shaping a positive future.”

YouthShoots’ Resilience Reps training aligns closely with ELAN’s values of working together, embracing individuality and doing the right thing, while empowering young people to become advocates for wellbeing within their school communities. A full impact report on the programme is being prepared for publication soon.

A huge thank you to YouthShoots and Paul Hanmore for delivering such meaningful, high‑quality work. We’re incredibly grateful for the positive difference this training is already making. More to follow very soon!
